Erik Šille
19.2.2010 - 11.4.2010
Erik Šille (1978), who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (Atelier of Ivan Csudai), represents one of the most distinctive personalities in current young Slovak art.
He already established his specific artistic expression during his studies and it matured, through a gradual development of characteristic features, to a very distinctive point represented by his current work.
Generally, it can be said that Šille's work is strongly characterised by his altogether witty treatment of the current world's symbols. Šille is inspired by the city, advertising and graphic design, depicts – in a form similar to comics – the transformed reality, and creates in terms of colour pure and striking views of the „Šille specific” universe.
For his exhibition in the Gallery on the Bridge he has prepared new works created mainly in the past two years.
